Coming Soon...

In a world... filled with the mightiest screen action performers in the television and film industry, there is barely a film or television show that gets released where we don't see a British Action Academy student gracing the silver screen. Our students and instructors are constantly working on the next big thing, with many of our students being placed on productions through our Screen Action Agency. With that in mind, we thought it would be a great idea to have a look at some of the epic productions our British Action Academy family have been working on...

The Secret Garden

From the producers behind the Harry Potter franchise, and adapted for the big screen by writer of the moment Jack Thorne with a cast boasting Colin Firth and Julie Walters. This is sure to be one of the must-see films of 2020. We were lucky enough to witness the film come together, with both the lead stunt doubles being British Action Academy Alumni! If you want to learn how to perform stunts, we still have spaces left on our B.L.A.S.T., British Live Action Stunt Training course later this month. You can book on HERE!

Giri/Haji

We've been looking forward to this show all year long now! A joint production between Netflix and the BBC, starring Sophia Brown, Togo Igawa, Jacob James Beswick, Kelly Macdonald, and a whole bunch of British Action Academy Skilled Supporting Artists, and former BAA students performing the stunts. This is must-see T.V. at it's finest, and we can't wait to see the shootout! One of the main requests we had when casting for this production was for performers with firearms experience. If you want to learn how to handle weapons on-screen check out our Gun Rush: Firearms For Film course.

In Fabric

Well, not technically coming soon, as this amazing film had its festival debut last year but it was only on limited release this summer so we want to give it some love. Following the life of a cursed dress as it passes from person to person, this is a horror film like you've never seen before. We were lucky enough to have some of our fantastic Warrior Women on production. Definitely worth checking out!

Pennyworth

Earlier this year we had a number of our Agency members on Pennyworth! This prequel to Batman is based on the younger days of Bruce Wayne's loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth, but don't worry there is still plenty of action! This version of Alfred isn't so much going to put out the cutlery as he is going to stab you in the face with it. Already airing in the US, you can expect it to air on Starz Play later this month in the UK. Our Skilled Supporting Artists have all passed up to Phase II of The Warrior Masterclass, and Pennyworth saw a lot of our students take on their first Skilled Supporting role, and get to put all of their training to use. You can get started on your own Warrior Journey right HERE!

Jason had this to say about his experience on set:

"It was great to be part of Pennyworth as my first on-screen job. I loved being fitted for costume, seeing how the stunt coordinators and directors worked and to see how the whole process of filming is brought to life. It was also great fun to be working alongside my BAA friends on set!"

War Of The Worlds

It seems like forever ago that we were casting for War Of The Worlds, but the BBC has finally released the first trailer and we can expect to see it out later this year. Based on the novel by H.G. Wells, this aims to be a more faithful adaptation, it's set in England and the correct time period this time. The trailer promises that this is going to be something special, and we can't wait!

Liar Season 2

The first season of Liar was British television at it's finest, and it ended with one hell of a cliff hanger. Our Agency members had the pleasure of working alongside some of their instructors on this prodcution. There hasn't been a trailer released for the second season yet, but we can expect Season 2 to air later this year! If you haven't seen season 1 yet we would highly recommend checking it out!

Bulletproof Season 2

This production has got the BAA HQ buzzing in anticipation. We had so much fun on the first season of the show, and we know that season 2 is going to be even better, with bigger stunts and more explosive action. Expect to see plenty of British Action Academy students in Skilled Supporting roles and a stunt team of former students and instructors. This is a show were cinematic action meets the small screen, and you won't be disappointed.

1917

We're going to have a lot of fun in the office playing spot the British Action Academy Student. This is a huge production with hundreds of performers, and many of our students and instructors have worked on this, and we can't wait to see them strut their stuff on the biggest screens! This one might warrant a trip to IMAX.

In Production Now...

We've also got lots of students and former students who are working on productions right now! We have British Action Academy alumni working and performing stunts on the new instalment of Fast and Furious; as the main stunt performers and doubles on Marvel's incredibly secretive Black Widow movie, which will finally see Scarlett Johanson get her own solo movie. Not to mention a number of students on the upcoming sequel to The Hitman's Bodyguard.

On the small screen, our Screen Action Agency has just cast for a huge battle sequence for Season 2 of The Spanish Princess, as well as supporting roles in the new Louis Wain biopic starring Benedict Cumberbatch. If you're a Bollywood fan, you are going to want to see Suruli when it comes out, as we have had a number of Skilled Supporting artists lending their skills to the huge action sequences on that production.

2019 has been a fantastic year, and 2020 is shaping up to be even bigger and even better. We can't wait to see what's next. It seems that something awesome is always coming soon...
