From Alan Carr to Pennyworth... we've been busy!

It's been a busy time here at the British Action Academy! Over the last six months, we have welcomed a whole host of brand new students, helped our Students gain their first Skilled Supporting Artist roles on a variety of productions, and worked on numerous projects ourselves! From blood-splattering violence to side-splitting comedy, we've done it all recently...

The Agency department has been incredibly busy, and the great joy of the British Action Academy Action Agency is getting to see our students land their first jobs as Skilled Supporting Artists! You can find out more about our Agency HERE and don't forget to check out our upcoming Agency Day!

The BAA Went On Blue Peter

The British Action Academy was proud to be a part of Radzi Chinyanganya last ever Blue Peter live show. Our Chief Instructor Andres Petrides was tasked with teaching Radzi how to use his special powers to defeat a room full of ninjas and then to help him take a leap off the high fall.

Fancy being taught how to become a stunt performer? Find out more on our B.L.A.S.T. Stunt Course!

Die Hard With Alan Carr

We also had our hands full with Alan Carr and Rob Beckett as we re-created the iconic Alan Rickman high fall from Die Hard. Andreas tried valiantly to marshal the two comedians as he taught them the basics of Screen Combat and some essential stunt skills, but they had other ideas. You can catch the full episode on There's Something About Movies Season 1 Episode 5 which aired on Sky One, and is now available on Sky Catch Up.

Think you can do a better job at Screen Combat than Alan and Rob, book onto Warrior Masterclass now to see if you've got what it takes!

Pennyworth

We supplied performers for the new Batman spin-off Pennyworth. The trailer landed this morning so enjoy! We had a BLAST working on it and so did our amazing performers. Harrison had this to say about it:

"Working on this show was a great experience shared with some great friends and talented people. This was my first Skilled Supporting Artist job and due to the training with the BAA I went into the job confident that I could throw myself into the action and take direction well."

We've also been privileged enough to have agency members working on brand new Netflix show Giri/Haji! It won't be released for a little while, but keep an eye out for some awesome action sequences when it hits the screen!

Not to mention some great work being done on the set of Liar Season 2 and Bulletproof Season 2, it's been fantastic watching these productions come together, and we can't wait to see the final product!

You may have also caught some of our students on recent commercials for Enterprise, where our agency members got to work alongside Hollywood star Gerard Butler, and doubled social influencers in a brand new Adidas commercial.

It was also great to see BAA Student Emma land a leading role in the music video for Higher States by up and coming indie rockers Sundara Karma, you can catch Emma in action below...

We also got to watch our students on the silver screen as Bounty Hunters Season 2 aired. Ian Whyte featured heavily during the series, and you can see him in this behind-the-scenes clip. He's the one holding Jack Whitehall's hand (and brushing his hair out of his eyes). You can hear more about Ian's on set experiences HERE.

We Released Our Phantom Menace Podcast!

The Action Reel sat down with Andreas to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Andreas worked on the film as the fight arranger, assistant stunt coordinator, and Ewan McGregor's stunt double. In the podcast, Andreas reminisces about his on-set experiences and talks us through how he helped create the iconic action sequences from the movie. You can listen to that podcast HERE

We've Welcomed Loads Of New Students To The BAA Family...

The British Action Academy has welcomed so many new students in the last couple of months. We've seen screen combatants on the Warrior Masterclass, gun-toting bad-asses on Gun Rush, and future stunt performers on B.L.A.S.T.

It's always a pleasure seeing new students taking part on our courses, and becoming true members of the BAA family. We've seen them create lasting bonds and friendships, and can't wait to see where their passion for screen action takes them!

If you want to join the British Action Academy family, you can find our full course diary HERE!
